Problem-area Thermal Situation

Excessive heat load is a very well known phenomena in urban areas. Especially in settlements with a high degree of sealing and reduced vertical ventilation excessive heat load frequently occurs negatively influencing living comfort and health of the inhabitants.

A second thermal phenomena is dealing with cold stress which is particular likely to happen in areas of cold air accumulation and in wind-exposed areas resulting in enhanced thermal stress and in case of frost damages on plants and financial losses may be the consequence. Adequate measures may lead to a reduction ot the negative effects of both phenomena.
